In more recent Halloweens, we've been watching fan films instead of horror flicks. We start off with a slideshow comparing the old actors of The Original Series to the new Star Trek movie that will be released in May 8, 2009.

The new cast

• Chekov - Anton Yelchin

Walter Koenig saw Andy Bray play Chekov in an Improv skit of Spock's Brain which Bray had written. After the show, Koenig went backstage to meet the cast. Time past and when the New Voyages/Phase 2 were casting the part of the younger Chekov for "To Serve All My Days", Koenig suggested Bray and was the one who approached him. We had a clip of the Improv skit as well as a commercial.

Unfortunately, Bray has moved on as well the actors who played Spock, Uhura and Sulu.

Operation Beta Shield (1:07.18 hrs)
The crossover between Nick Cook's Scottish production team Starship Intrepid and the LA production Hidden Frontiers continues with Operation Beta Shield. It is in the same timeline as the Hidden Frontier's series The Odyssey and Helena Chronicles. Watch the Helena Chronices first since it refers to it. Operation Beta Shield introduces Federation One.

Of Gods and Men
Written and directed by Tim Russ (Voyagers' Tuvok) filmed on the New Voyages set which is now Phase 2. You will find many familiar faces especially from TOS and Voyager.

Russ does not consider the film to be a fan film, and they are trying to sell a DVD which is not allowed with fan films. I hope this doesn't spell doom for the fan films.
