Just before the astronauts are launched to the ISS, they have photos with their instructors. The expedition crew decided upon a Star Trek theme. Come in red, gold or blue shirts The Payloads Group (my group) wanted blue shirts for the science. Red shirts were all that we could find. Despite redshirts always being the first the first, I guess Engineering works for me. It looks pretty sharp with our patch on it.
I thought only the instructors would be having their photos with the astronauts. We'll have a group photo taken afterwards so I came in faded black jeans and sneakers. Wrong! Imagine showing up to senior portraits in jeans and sneakers. Even the guys who came in TNG costumes were more appropriately dressed than myself. Oh well. I prefer the Voyager uniforms myself. I'll post the photos if we get them.
