Mary and I checked out the Boardwalk this morning and had breakfast at Spoodles a Mediterranean grill. Mary had the American breakfast - sausages, eggs, potatoes, bacon and a carrot cake like muffin. I had the Italian breakfast which tasted something like a lasagna since it had ricotta cheese, flat bread, two poached eggs, Parmesan cheese with a tomato sauce. Something just before rollercoaster rides is a smart thing-NOT!
Our vacation plan came with buy one get one free ticket which is good for a week. The park is not crowded. Maybe the heat has something to do about that. The high is 95 today - not good for Mary. I've felt worse. Mary wasn't ready for The Hulk, so we do Shrek 4D which was fun but the 3D seemed off. We then did the Beetlejuice Revue which was corny but Mary likes Beetlejuice. The Simpsons ride was cool. It combined a motion base with a curved screen. We then checked out an animal show which was interesting. They had a parrot hover by flying into a fan as well as a raccoon, pig, skunk, ducks, doves, parrots, dogs and orangutan. We bumped into Doc Brown "Back to the Future" while looking for The Mummy ride. I rode solo on The Mummy ride. There was no wait for single riders. It was rollercoaster ride with animatronics. It was okay. A bit short. Mary was tiring so I settled for a ride on the Hulk. I rode solo again and the line was longer. This was a steel rollercoaster so it was fast and smooth with lots of barrel rolls. It will bounce your head against the shoulder harness. As we left the parking lot, we can see dark clouds behind us.
We had dinner at one of the Swan's many restaurants. It was an Italian buffet with a twist. They served the salad. A couple of desserts even had liquor. The biggest was surprise was that Goofy and Pluto visited every table and I didn't bring the camera. Bummer!
We were surprised when we checked in late and had better boarding position than when I got the passes on Thursday. We walked over to the Boardwalk and watched the fireworks over Epcot. Even at 70mm, my lens is too long for scenic views. Magicians were doing close-up magic throughout the boardwalk - for free! I had expected the hat to be passed around after the act but they didn't. Well, it's time to call it a night.
