Sun Aug 13, 2007 1059 Waterfalls

Our next stop is the Faxi Falls. Fish steps run alongside.

The next waterfall is even more magnificent. The Gullfoss or Golden Waterfall is 32 m high and falls in two tiers. It's 2.5 km long. I'm initially wet from the spray, and I have to clean my lens with my cuff. I press on and find it dry further up. The weather was nice. I was able to wear my rugby shirt from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and I'm not cold. The ground becomes rocky, but the view is spectacular. Hopefully, the shots come out. National Geographic's theme comes to mind. I climb the stairs and shoot the falls from there as well.

I take a few shots of the glacier. I read that they do dogsledding up there. Mary always wanted to do that.
