Sun Aug 13, 2007 1432 Pingvellir National Park

Our next stop is Pingvellir National Park where they have the logberg or law rock. It's also the site of the Continental Divide of the North American and European plates.

We are dropped off at downtown Reykjavik. Bill wants a photo of the church we saw yesterday. The statue of Lief Erickson was sent by the US.

We walk pass a street named Thor's gate followed by Baldur's Gate. Mary needs to see the pharmacy so we end up on tourist trap row. I spot a bank but it's behind a locked door. No taxi. So we go to the coast to avoid lights and have benches where Mary could rest.

For dinner, we eat at the Pizza Hut next door. We try the Hawaiian - a pepperoni and pineapple pizza. The Honolulu Taco crust is wierd. Pitcher of ennn-. No one has unlimited sodas. Get a banana split.

Back at the hotel, we look at at the brochures that Reykjavik Excursions has to offer. Puffins and whales are in season as well as dogsledding on a glacier.

Iceland was nice. The skies were so blue that it hurt the eye.
